Serving with the C&MA in Senegal

is

Recap: January started with a two week leadership seminar and ended with a trip to Bamako, Mali.  Both were very good times, but unfortunately were only able to be taken in by Andy as we couldn't just leave the boys to fend for themselves yet!

The trip to Bamako was to observe a ministry that targets business professionals called HighMark.  Basically, it is a one year program centered around five weeks of morning seminars which take place one week at a time, about every other month.  The afternoons allow time for the American businessmen to do one-on-one consulting at the place of business of the participant.  Following every seminar, there are five small group meetings to discuss and review what was learned during the week.  This follow-up is done by the local missionary and gives opportunities to get into the lives of local businessmen and businesswomen.  So, the American businessman(woman) comes for one week, shares his/her expertise, and helps open doors for the Gospel.  Please write if this type of ministry is of particular interest to you as we may be looking to get this going in Dakar after our year of home assignment.

Home Assignment: We will finish our first term in May and will be returning to the States for a year of Home Assignment.  We will be staying in Toccoa Falls, GA, serving as Missionaries in Residence at the college.

Need: We are in need of a car/van that can fit 3 car seats for the coming year (May 15, 2010 - June 30, 2011).  The missionary wheels program in the South Atlantic District is down to one car this coming year and unfortunately we are second on that list!  So, we are starting to explore all of our options.  Do you have any ideas or leads? Are you looking to sell your car in the coming months?  We are open to any and all suggestions at this point!  We will be sharing in churches from Florida to Chicago, so having a reliable vehicle lined up will make our year much easier.

PRAY: Please pray for us to finish this term well but to also have direction for our future ministry in Senegal.  The opportunities are endless.  We have some good village contacts, but we also have some opportunities in Dakar with business, university students, etc. that are promising.  We don't want to be overextended and are praying that God would sharpen our vision.
